Rent a soak tank for more predictable kitchen cleaning

Managing equipment, chemical supplies and maintenance separately can make cleaning costs harder to plan. Renting a soak tank gives your kitchen an on-site cleaning system without buying equipment or managing separate chemical and maintenance arrangements. One monthly fee covers the tank, the supplied chemicals, repairs and maintenance.
At Chef's Choice Soak Tanks, we provide tanks that stay at your premises throughout the hire. Your team can clean compatible filters and kitchen metalware daily, weekly or on another rotation that suits the workload. Heated water and biodegradable, non-caustic chemicals reduce manual scrubbing, freeing staff for other kitchen duties.

What your monthly soak tank rental covers

Rental starts from $220 per month, with no equipment purchase required. The fee includes the tank, one measured monthly chemical supply and repairs and maintenance under the service warranty.
Allow for your kitchen’s water, electricity and staff time alongside the rental fee.

The tank can also clean other suitable kitchen metalware, so consider its value across your cleaning workload.
If you currently outsource filter cleaning, compare those costs with the monthly tank rental and the wider range of compatible equipment you can clean in-house.

Cleaning around your kitchen’s daily workload

Keeping a tank on site lets your team choose when to clean rather than depend on contractor collections or filter swap-outs. Heavier items such as racks and baking pans can soak overnight and be ready the next day.
One customer using wine-barrel smokers paid a worker to scrub racks for two to three hours nightly. Once the tank was in use, the racks were cleaned more effectively and the employee could focus on salads and food preparation.
For your kitchen, compare current scrubbing time with required loading, rinsing and monthly upkeep. The benefit is being able to redirect staff time from scrubbing to more productive kitchen work. Discuss your cleaning workload with us.

Choosing and siting your soak tank

Most kitchens need one tank. Tank sizes include approximately 250 litres, with larger units or an additional tank available where extra capacity or a separate tank for filters is useful. We assess sizing against your available space, access and cleaning volume.
Our tanks are tested and tagged for compliance with applicable New Zealand standards. Double insulation limits heat loss, while thermostatic control cycles the heater rather than heating continuously.
Discuss your filter cleaning workload and filter dimensions with us, along with any other equipment you plan to soak, so we can check capacity and material suitability.

Monthly tank upkeep and nationwide support

Kitchen staff change the water and chemicals approximately each month. Allow around 30 minutes to drain the tank into the grease-trap drain, refill with water and add one supplied bag of chemicals. The changeover can be scheduled during a quiet period and does not require a service visit. Water is reused between loads.
Setup support is generally by phone. Our three-page instructions cover setup, monthly changeover and soak times, giving new and rotating staff consistent guidance.
Approximately 80 of our tanks operate nationwide in hospitality businesses, supermarkets and hospitals. We provide 24/7 operational phone assistance, with supply and support throughout New Zealand’s North and South Islands. Contact us about rental or support.

Check Out Our Instructional Guides

Before supply, we check for water for filling, a grease-trap drain for emptying, a standard 10-amp power point with continuous power and a suitable location that staff can reach easily. No heavy plumbing is required.

Teflon-coated items should not go in the tank. Discuss the equipment you plan to soak with us before use so we can check material suitability and capacity.

Although the chemicals are non-caustic, the heated solution requires careful handling. Staff should follow the operating instructions and Safety Data Sheet, alongside the setup, monthly changeover and soak-time guidance.

Your monthly rental includes the soak tank, a measured supply of cleaning chemicals, repairs and maintenance, plus phone support. This keeps the ongoing cost predictable without separate equipment or maintenance charges.
